CALLING ASPIRING SCRIPT WRITERS
A festival of 10-minute plays featuring the works of local writers. Sponsored by FreeFall Stage.
Festival participants (Playwrights) will be chosen based on script creativity, characterization, and staging potential.
Script Submission deadline: August 1st, 2020
Submission fee: $50
Submission Details:
- Scripts must be submitted to info@freefallstage.com. Scripts must have a cover page that includes the author’s name, address, email, phone number, and title of script.
- The script itself must have a running head of the script title and page numbers. The author’s name must not appear anywhere on the script pages.
- Scripts will be blindly chosen by a panel.
Finalists
Each playwright finalist (i.e. those whose scripts are chosen to perform at the Festival in November) will prepare their plays for performance (at the festival), guided through the production process by an experienced mentor-director to help polish, direct, stage, and produce their play.

About The SacTown 10-Minute Play Festival
Our 2nd Annual Festival Will Feature 10-minute Plays By Local Writers!
The SacTown 10-Minute Play Festival has been created to support aspiring playwrights. The competition has been designed with the goal to inspire, educate and nurture artists and our community towards a thoughtful and humane world view through the art of story-telling.
We desire to help theatre artists find their voices, cultivate social consciousness and prepare for a lasting career. We support new and established playwrights and incubate new plays.
We seek to make a lasting, life-long impression on our community – inspiring the audience to continue provocative conversations long after the curtain closes.
Prizes (decided at the Festival)
- $200 for Best Playscript
- $100 for Audience Choice Award
