Life is tough and then . . . you’re paralyzed. Can music really heal?

SYNOPSIS

Life was good and then it wasn’t. Mary’s life was not without its difficulties. That goes for anyone trying to balance husband, two kids, and work. However, when you add to that a military career, all bets are off. But even with that, life was still good, and she was happy. After her platoon in Afghanistan was attacked by insurgents, Mary was left paralyzed and without a military career; and, three months into her recovery, without a spouse.

One year later, Mary is adjusting to life as a single mom in a wheelchair. Simple things like preparing meals, showering, and taking the kids to soccer practice now feel as daunting as walking into a hostile village used to. Walking up three simple steps to the entrance of a building has turned into finding and navigating a 15 yard ramp—and that’s the easy stuff. With her ex on deployment, she has almost no support system, except for the newly married couple who moved into the apartment across the hall from hers. Reluctantly, Mary accepts their help. She eventually begins to let them in to her life, her kid’s life and into her heart.
